Recent and Forthcoming News : 2011

*** Bad news ***
I had a sketchbook of development work and a photo album full of images stolen from my studio space on Tuesday 8th March 2011The sketchbook consisted of 5 months worth of research, planning, sketches and photos, and the separate 6x4 photo album documented the experimental process of creating my 'Our Glasses Runneth Quickly' sculpture piece. If you happen to see anyone with similar images to my work shown in their own practice, please let me know as they may be plagiarising my work! Thank you very much.

D.I.Y Taxidermy with Charlie Tuesday Gates at the Future Gallery in London on Wednesday 23rd February 2011

I attended a live taxidermy show hosted by the wonderful Charlie Tuesday Gates last night, and was lucky enough to be chosen to volunteer to help stitch up a lamb during one of her demonstrations! My sister and I were also interviewed by the Independent, inquiring about how we heard about the event, and why we decided to come along. It was such a fantastic evening, Charlie was brilliantly entertaining and her collection of work is incredibly inspiring!

Life Drawing on 'Embarrassing Bodies' on Channel Four - 9pm on Friday 18th February 2011
Before Christmas I took part in filming for an episode of 'Embarrassing Bodies' hosted by Dr.Christian which dealt with the issue of male circumcision. Along with two other art student friends of mine, we were part of a life drawing class that sketched two male models, one circumcised and one not. We then took part in a group discussion about what our society thinks of circumcision, followed by the task of identifying where the operation would medically be necessary from a selection of large photos of infected penises.
